As a part of the project "XP@OBS" (=exhibitors and partners @ online business service), a comprehensive and central system for the online processing of all internal and external business processes at Deutsche Messe AG was developed. The goal of the project was to streamline the trade fair management processes with the comm.fair and comm.ticket software products and to design a service provider portal with the associated interfaces based on the open-EIS integration platform.
Challenge
The challenge in this project was to create a central trade fair management system that would perfectly support the multitude of different internal and external business processes and procedures of all participants, i.e. exhibitors, service providers, visitors and internal employees of Deutsche Messe AG.
Solution
A central online trade fair management system was developed based on comm.fair and comm.ticket, which covers the complex business processes of trade fair management from registration through order and order processing to invoicing and complete ticketing.
With the existing functions of comm.fair and comm.ticket as a basis, these were expanded in order to include the specific business processes of the trade fair. Moreover, several portals with specific functions were implemented for different target groups. Within so-called service provider portals, for example, external service providers can work directly in the system and track and correct exhibitor orders and finally report back their services already delivered. Thus the complete order and order processing takes place in the central online trade fair management system.
