Client: Messe Frankfurt
As a part of the EasyOrder project, Messe Frankfurt implemented a high-performance, central online registration and purchase order system for exhibitors and integrated it into the existing, historically grown infrastructure. The implementation was based on the integration platform open-EIS, the trade fair management system comm.fair and the online ticket system comm.ticket.
Challenge
The challenge in this project was not only to develop an online registration and purchase order system for the first time in Europe, but also to develop a central system that integrates perfectly into the existing system landscape and can communicate with the existing IT systems.
Solution
A central online registration and purchase order system was developed on the basis of comm.fair and comm.ticket, which covers the complex exhibitor business process from registration and ordering services to invoicing and complete ticketing.
For this purpose, a large number of functions were implemented which must be accessible for the entire exhibitor business processes, such as stand registration and ancillary service order, shopping basket system, receipt administration, administration of organizer stands, catalogue administration and barcode system. In addition, various interfaces were developed for the integration of the system into the existing, historically grown IT landscape, e.g. to transfer master data, products and accounting elements to the central online registration and purchase order system. Data transfer can thus be carried out consistently and efficiently across all systems.
